Brace is an independent outlet investigating digital surveillance, data leaks, the commercial malicious software industry, and how states and corporations regulate — or fail to regulate — these practices. We publish in Russian, English and German for an audience that works with these issues professionally: journalists, security researchers, and staff at international organisations.

The editorial team decides independently on topics, timing and content of publications. No funding source has veto power over publication or pre-approval rights over stories.
